Is there a limit on the number of shows you can put in one rss feed? What do you do with old episodes when you have hundreds of episodes?

Also, in this episode, I tell you all about the Podcast Production Setup and Workflow Webinar. • Dave,

You're absolutely right that I am completely sold on the Edirol R-09 recorder. However, at the same time, I see it as a top of the line option when it comes to portable digital recorders....

When I'm selling audio equipment, I do sell less expensive options like the Zoom H2 and Tascam DR-07 units. It really depends on what people's budgets are and where their priorities lie, not just in sound quality but also in functionality, ease of use, etc...

For this reason, the "perfect recoder" is different for each person.

But heck... Compared to four years ago... The number of options that we have today are simply AMAZING!

Thanks so much for the feedback on your experience with the Olympus DS-2.

I'm glad to have you as a listener!

    Cliff
  • I know you're sold on the Edirol recorder, but I thought I'd mention that I've actually gotten some pretty nice results in the field using an inexpensive dynamic mic plugged into an Olympus DS-2 Voice recorder. What limits the sound quality the most on the DS-2, IMHO are the on-board mics, but even a LITTLE better microphone gets a lot wider frequency response and makes this a pretty nice field recorder for the price. The other thing I've discovered is that the recorder's "dictation" mode actually provides some nice on-the-fly compression. I think the DS-2 has been superceded at this point, but used/refurbs can be found online pretty easily. I did some location interviews at a couple of the recent "tea parties" with the DS-2 and your basic RS mike, and it did really well for the purpose.

Enjoying your podcasts. Thanks for all the great info.

  • Very interesting Podcast Answer Man episode Cliff!. I had never heard that there was a way to raise the limit on the number of podcast episodes at a WordPress site. I want to set mine at 200 episodes. I did some poking around within my WordPress site's settings, but couldn't find that particular item. I have WordPress 2.7.1 I believe. Where can I find that functionality in WP to raise my ceiling to 200 podcast episodes?

    Thanks!

    Wayne
