no3xWhat Day Should I Releasing My Podcast?
In this week’s episode of Podcast Answer Man, I share my feelings on what day of the week is best for releasing your podcast. The fact is that the best part of podcasting is that it is time shifted and people can choose to listen to your show whenever they desire. However, strategically choosing the day of your podcast can help make it easier to use your podcast to fit into their weekend routine, as a fresh start to a new work week or a mid-week pick me up. The most important thing is that you consider releasing your show on the same day each week, whichever day you end up choosing. (This topic starts at 00:06:40)

Is it okay to tag my .mp3 files with iTunes?
I discuss tagging your .mp3 files in video 2 of my free Learn How To Podcast Tutorial. In this episode, I give my updated thoughts on just how important .mp3 tagging is today. I still believe that every .mp3 file should be tagged. The question has come up as to whether it is okay to tag your files using iTunes software instead of other dedicated software designed to add artwork and other tags to your podcast. Have a listen to this episode to hear my full thoughts on this matter. (This topic starts at 00:14:00)

Mic Flags
Have you seen the mic flag that I have over the top of my microphone? If not, check out the Heil Microphone Equipment Package on my Podcast Equipment Page. I get my mic flags from Ellen at Impact PBS. Please do not judge the quality of their product by the look of their website. They do amazing work! Mic flags run about $50 plus shipping. 30/30 iOS Application
I have fallen in love with the 30/30 iOS application. I did my best to explain how this application allows me to plan out my entire day and allows me to completely stay focused on the tasks that I have assigned to myself.

I also am pretty pumped about 30x30. Is there anything like it for a desktop mac?

Hi Cliff,  I continue to love your podcast and appreciate all the apps and tips you share so generously.  I'm not sure about the Podcast app from iTunes - I've started using it because I realise how it helps the podcasters, but PocketCasts was easier to use - or maybe I'm just used to it.

First off, you should add that Libsyn code over in your sidebar somewhere. I had to hunt all over the site last week when I was trying to find it (not for the free month, but so you'd get credit for the referral)! ;)

Secondly, I'm on a PC and I use a handy little program for ID3 tagging called MP3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/). It's got a nice feature called Tag Copy and Tag Paste. Since I launched my new podcast last week, I've found that all I needed to do was properly tag the first episode's MP3 with all the necessary info (including the artwork), and then I use the tag copy and paste feature to properly tag each new podcast, then I just change the date in the title and I'm done. It takes less than 10 seconds and I don't need to worry about skipping over a field, etc.

By the way, thanks for the 8-video series on YouTube. Apart from 1-2 questions, it answered everything I really needed to know to get up and running from scratch. It was a HUGE help!

@gspn Looking forward to listening to the ep.  I know in the entertainment podcasting sphere it is a challenge.  @Mardarrell records the Revolution ep review podcast and the Listener feedback eps back to back.  I'm sure that is what works best for he and Jeremy.  It seems to work well for them.  Although, it disappoints me because I didn't get to send in feedback to get in that weeks ep.  I don't stay up past 10 and can't see the show until after the feedback deadline.  So I'm content to send in feedback that will be played a week late.  (Don't know that it will be different next season b/c Wed. nights are full  Church 7-9, Arrow & Revolution at 8, Tomorrow People at 9, and CSI on the DVR at 10).  I miss the Weekly Lost Podcast days with a review ep and a live feedback ep on Fridays. But I just miss LOST

On the GSPN front.  ALR I listen as soon as it is out.  FFTH usually on Monday's or Tuesdays.  PAM Fridays.

@debrahilton It takes a bit of getting used to.  However, it grew on me after a while.  I like that it syncs subscriptions between my iPad Mini and my iPhone.   But hey... Use what works best for you. That's my motto. ;)  Thanks for the comment!

@chazzbro Thank you for using my Libsyn code.  I know, I know. There is long list of things that I should do.   :)

I love the MP3TAG.de/en software that you mentioned.  I used to use that when I worked with Windows.

So glad you enjoyed the free http://LearnHowToPodcast.com tutorial!

@xforce11 Thanks for the feedback Geoff. I miss those old LOST days  as well.  Eventually, I'll get to the place where I am able to SCALE the work that I do and will have a team of people helping to run this business which will allow me to devote time to a new show that will have such a weekend community gathering. ;)
