snfyvThree Ideas For Finding Your Voice
In this episode, I invite Joel Boggess and Dr. Pei Kang back to Podcast Answer Man. Joel and Pei were featured as guests back on episode 226 where we discussed how you can make yourself newsworthy.

Joel is coming out with a new book titled “Finding Your voice – sort through the clutter and discover clarity, confidence and direction” that is being published by SoundWisdom. The book is scheduled for release on November 5th. However, you can pre-order the book by clicking here. If you do end up pre-ordering the book, you can get your book bonuses by clicking here.

In my conversation with Joel and Pei, we discussed three ideas to help you discover the message that you have to share with the world.

1. Finding your voice in the “past” – your past leaves clues.
2. Finding your voice in the “questions” others have for you.
3. Finding your voice in the “struggles”

YouTube Audio Library
YouTube recently launched their Free Audio Library with 150 Royalty-Free audio tracks that you can download and use in any of your creative productions.

YouTube already offered more than 150,000 audio tracks on its site previously. However, those tracks were not able to be downloaded or edited in any way. Also, those tracks were only licensed for use in YouTube videos.

These new tracks are available as 320 Kbps MP3 files and YouTube says that they can be used for “any creative purpose” even outside of YouTube. In this social media segment, Erik Fisher and I discuss when you may or may not want to use these audio tracks.

Hi Cliff!

just wanted to say thank you for making me laugh as I commuted to work this morning! Haven't completely finished this episode yet, but the section where you were chatting with @ErikJFisher (my bacon loving friend)  was so funny as you ad-libbed  the new jingles :)  As always, full of interesting information and advice. The question of finding suitable music at a cost effective price, can be really frustrating. After a while you listen to track after track and they all merge, so thanks for the connection to the other sources for creating a podcast jingle/opening track. Hopefully, I will be at NMX  in January and perhaps we can connect there? Also, would you be interested in me hosting a UK meet up sometime? Best wishes, Peter

Thanks for sharing the You Tube Audio Library resource. This is very helpful in trying to find background music for my videos.

@KAnstaett Thanks so much Kim. I appreciate your feedback!

Hey Cliff, great show as usual.

I just wanted to clarify something you said - the older library of music that YouTube has available for us is only used to replace the existing audio on your video.

In other words - your voice will NOT be mixed in with the music.

Thanks for the show Cliff!

So now that YouTube released new jingles, what is going to keep them from getting old in the future? Great resource though, because I'd like to get a new audio package for my podcast soon.  I used the GB jingles because I just wanted to get it out there. Cool resource! Thanks!

@PeteBillingham Thank you so much for the encouraging feedback Pete.  I would love to host a meetup in the UK.  I just need a profitable project that brings me to that part of the world.  Something that I hope will happen sooner rather than later.

I look forward to seeing you in Vegas!

@Ileane Thanks for the clarification.  I never used the old library.   Pretty excited about having these additional Royalty Free options though.

@jdgaby I think it would be good for short video background music or a podcast promo.  However, I would not use it as a podcast theme music. ;)

@peteBillingham Hi Cliff - yes, still working on the plans but certainly hope to be in Las Vegas. We actually I think have quite a bit in common in that for many years I worked in the insurance industry, but also was a founding pastor and in the past six years have developed a start-up international Christian ministry in Kiev Ukraine (but still living in the UK which makes for an interesting monkey morning trip) we also have a good friendships in common with @jaredeasley and @JimMunchbach  what I was thinking might be an interesting idea is to do a meet up by "live link" using skype  as an experiment, It was just a thought, as I know that you have a number of people that are here in the UK. I have been working on some audio and practice ready to launch a podcast in the New Year after I have completed The Camino.  Thanks for all the content you create, always interesting, always a value and always entertaining.

@Cliff Ravenscraft  You're welcome. I was a little confused about the two different libraries when they made the announcement so I was really pleased to find out we have access to music we can actually download.

I used the other library to make bumpers for playlists. I found a couple of 6 second clips for transitions to announce the title of the upcoming video in the playlist. It was fun to play around with inside the YouTube editor.

@Cliff Ravenscraft @jdgaby Cliff you mentioned a couple of places where you get royalty free music that you DO recommend using for podcast theme music. I looked on your resource page and couldn't find that resource again. Could you remind us what site that was? Thanks.

I can understand that, just an idea. But if I can ever help at all with anything in the UK, just let me know. The UK is waiting! Best wishes.

@PeteBillingham I'd prefer to do face to face meetups rather than video Skype connections.  It's just a personal thing.  I pretty much reserve Skype for use to do audio interviews or to bring in a special guest, via audio, into my show.

I know that I will make it to the UK one of these days. ;)
