site-tom-adams-21Tom Adams Shares The Value of A Small Narrow Niche Audience
Podcasting to a small, niche audience is an often overlooked opportunity by many potential podcasters. Tom Adams has discovered just how valuable they can be. Tom is a consultant, executive coach and author, as well as the President of a boutique web marketing agency that serves the commercial records and information management services industry.

Tom’s niche industry audio podcast, the RIMproReport produced it’s 166th episode just before the holiday break. His podcast is exclusively sponsored by a vendor within his industry and it generates peripheral revenue for Tom and his company.

Tom and I discuss the lessons he’s learned doing the show, the value of a small niche audience and the evolving approach he takes to the podcast. We also discuss the benefits he’s gained from his podcast and discusses the differences between audio podcasting and his more recent video podcast, Thrive in 5.

Great episode Cliff and Tom!  I went back and re-listened because I'm doing it...I've changed my podcast plan and will be going micro niche with my upcoming new podcast.  Scary, but my gut says yes.  It's taken me almost year to come full circle back to where I new I needed to be in the first place.  SUPER excited and a little nervous :)

Love that you emphasized that part in the middle of the episode where Tom shared about the power of niching.  Awesome.

This was a great episode. Not just learning from Tom's experience, but really hearing how important it is to stay committed to the process. It's not easy and it's not instant. We can't be disappointed when we don't get immediate results.

@Shelia Wishing you great success as you pursue the niche that will help you achieve the goals that you have set for yourself. :)

@intensityforlife If only everyone could actually "hear that message" and "take it to heart" we would see so many more podcasting success stories (five years later). :)  Thanks for the feedback!

@Cliff Ravenscraft@intensityforlifeThe line that made me sit up and realize what was wrong with frame of mind was something like "People don't want a job they love. They want the lottery." I realized I was focused on the results without putting in the work to get them. That's a destructive thought pattern. This episode really encouraged me a lot.

@intensityforlife  I love that thought.   "People don't want a "job" they love, they want the rewards that come from having invested their lives in the work they love without doing the "work."

WELL SAID!!!!
