Very moving episode, Cliff. Thank you for sharing it. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your father, but really appreciate your honesty in talking about your complex relationship. So many of us have similar situations in our family. And it really is a wonderful picture of you and your son. Congratulations on finishing your first triathlon!

  • Marie Bengtsson

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was deeply touched.

  • Thank you for sharing your touching story, Cliff. It was a very moving episode. I am so sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you during this time.

  • Thank you Marie. I am happy that you enjoyed this episode.

  • Thank you Chris. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers my friend.

Very inspiring story. The day one page is turned, another is written. I did got similar concerns about my father, disappointingly him taking his own story as an excuse for repeating the same mistakes and rejecting critics with denial and ‘I did my best’. Being a father myself for 3 years now, I’d like to find your energy and inspiration to do the same with my son: not repeating the mistakes of the past and give him the will for being a better man/father, everyday. God Bless you Cliff.

  • Thank you Marc. I pray that you’ll find that energy to become the father you wish you had. I trust you will.

  • Cliff – powerful story on so many levels. It seems we can use our past as an excuse or as the motivation to make better choices. I’m delighted you’ve chosen the later. Loved the part about you and Matthew and as Michael S pointed out – one story ends and another begins.

  • Thank you Dan!

  • Jason Sisam

Cliff, Thank you for your authenticity and transparency. I love how you took what you missed out on with your father and are actively imparting into your children as a father. The fact your son wants to do a triathlon with you speaks volumes in how you’ve impacted your son’s life.

I believe the Lord is going to use your story to breathe hope into the lives of so many broken people. I pray the Holy Spirit gives you wisdom as you continue to seek His face!

Bless you my brother in Christ!

  • Thank you so much for the very kind and encouraging feedback Jason. More than anything, I appreciate that prayer! Blessings to you!

Cliff–what a deep, powerful story that has many chapters left to be written. It’s a story of redemption and hope. I can’t wait to see the next slow motion video– you and your son crossing the finish line together. Well done good and faithful servant.

  • Paul, thank you so much. I’m inspired to be intentional about what is written in these next chapters. 😉
