Thanks Cliff! This latest episode downloaded on my iPhone podcasts app right after I watched you you uploaded it on Facebook Live! So nice to tune in today!! Thanks for the plugs yesterday you gave me on your Instagram Live stream for Special Chronicles, the pioneering nonprofit media platform I founded 9-years ago that gives respect and voice to people with special needs.

  • Live streaming today is in an interesting spot. I find it most useful when there’s a major news event happening and the streamer is live at that scene. Other than that, I’ll sometimes put up the live stream from TWiT on my second monitor, but it’s mainly playing in the background. I can see the value is just opening up a stream and leaving it running all day as a virtual watercooler, too.

Many folks today encounter live streaming without even realizing that’s what it is. They encounter it at work through live webinars and conference calls. It’s a great way to connect employees without piling everyone into the same conference room. The main difference between this an Facebook live streaming is that in the case of a webinar, attendance is usually mandatory, and PowerPoint slides are likely to dominate the video portion. Still, these two technologies and functions are a lot closer than many folks realize.

  • One thing is for sure, we are spoiled with all the amazing technology that is available to us today! 🙂

  • Good afternoon Cliff! Hope you are and your family is doing well. It’s been awhile since spoke. Always get alot of value and inspiration from your podcasts so keep up the great work. Loved this episode. Quick question. Do you know if the Rode SmartLav+ works with the iPhone 7 or 7+ using the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter? Thanks in advance and have a blessed day.

  • Great to hear from you Mark. Yes, it does work, from what I hear form others.

    Cliff,
You totally contradicted yourself in this episode.
    I wouldn’t say you’re in a bubble I
would say you’re in a cave.
