I Will Be Speaking At BlogWorld Expo 2011 NYC

by Cliff Ravenscraft on May 10, 2011

I’m very excited to announce that I will be speaking at the BlogWorld & New Media Expo that is being held May 24th – 26th, 2011 in New York City.

I would have loved to have given you all a more advanced notice about this. However, the invitation to speak at the event came in just a few days ago and I’ve been working to make sure that I could rearrange my schedule to make this happen.

Everything is set in place, travel arrangements have been made and I will be headed to NYC on Monday, May 23rd. In fact, I am arranging a meetup that Monday and would like to invite anyone from the gspn.tv / Podcast Answer Man community to explore a bit of the city together. This is only my second visit to NYC and I look forward to seeing a bit more of the city. Click here for meetup details and to RSVP.

Up until now, BlogWorld & New Media Expo had taken place once a year in Las Vegas. However, this year they add this NYC event and the west coast event is moving to Los Angeles in the fall.

Reading through the descriptions of all the sessions that are going to be presented during this event, it’s easy to see just how much of a valuable educational experience this event will be. Click Here To See Full Schedule.

Thursday, May 26th at 9am ET: I will be speaking Thursday morning from 9am to 10am ET. and will be sharing a session with Mike Rotman from Streaming Garage. The following is a description of the session from the BlogWorld Site:

20% off Discount Code – The folks who run BlogWorld & New Media Expo have given me a 20%-discount code to share with my community. Use discount code CLIFFVIP to get 20% off BWE registration. You can read more about the conference on the full conference page.

I’m excited to get to share the gspn.tv story with the folks who will be attending the conference and just as equally excited about exploring more of NYC with other folks from the gspn.tv / Podcast Answer Man community during the meetup on Monday night. Click Here To RSVP for the meetup!

Hey folks, I have an update on my BlogWord & New Media Expo session. I just learned from Mike, the person I was supposed to share my session with, that due to a scheduling conflict, he is not able to make it to the Thursday sessions of the expo.

Once I learned of this, I contacted the event organizers immediately to see what the new plans were for the session. I got two responses back, almost immediately, and they said, “…looks like you have a solo!”

I really do feel bad that Mike does not get this opportunity to share his story. However, at the same time, I am delighted to know that I will have 40 minutes to tell the story of gspn.tv! So now the session will be 40 minutes of me telling the gspn.tv story and 20 minutes of Q&A.

  • That is absolutely freakin’ phenomenal Cliff – even if I did accurately predict this to be the case when you slid us a sliver of a hint some time ago.

Richly deserved and I hope it’s being streamed. Find out for us European types who don’t stand a cat in Hades chance of being there!

  • I don’t know what they are streaming and not streaming. However, I will do my best to record video myself and I’ll certainly get an audio recording of the talk.

  • Dude, you’re a total 4 year overnight success! How’d you get so lucky? Kidding of course my friend. Well deserved.

The funny thing is I suggested you as a speaker hoping that the conference would be more focused about podcasting. They didn´t know you already, but I guess they found you and asked you to speak about communities. Not that it is not interesting, but I would have preferred more sessions about podcasting. But maybe there will be in LA.

  • Thanks Andy!

  • Well Karin, I certainly appreciate you suggesting me! It’s an honor to be invited and so glad that I was able to make it fit into my May schedule.

  •  Hey Cliff,

My brother from another mother, congratulations on the speaking gig at Blogworld. Like you said, there are a whole bunch of Pat Flynn’s at that event so hopefully you can get a good percentage of them podcasting. Thanks for all you do.

  • Thanks! I’m very excited about the opportunity. Even went and created some new business cards. Check out http://gspn.tv/businesscards

  • I am not gonna miss this. I have been meaning to contact you to get some podcast equipment and inquire about your new class, Cliff. SO glad you’ll be there I speak at 11:30 so it might be best to just come to your session and forget about more practice :)))!

  • I am looking forward to your session as well! 🙂

You are welcome, I at glad to hear you say in your video, that you are talking about your podcasting career, but I don´t see why the word podcasting has to be left out in the whole description of your session – I don´t get it.

  • Yeah, I don’t get it. I’ve requested an update to my session description since I’m now going solo. But I’ve not heard back.

I’m not complaining though. I’ve been doing my best to promote the event and will do a lot of networking while I’m there.

I know the organizers have a lot going on, so I’m not going to be pushy about it… 🙂
