In this episode, I share three of the most recent critical feedback emails that I’ve received. Two of the three had a very negative tone with the criticisms. In each of these three examples, I share how it is possible to turn these types of emails into an opportunity to build a relationship. It’s not always possible to do this. However, when it comes to building community, it is important to understand that it really does happen one person at a time.

  • I listened to this show today and have to stay I enjoyed it very much. I don't believe that you are a gay hater but based on the what I did hear it seems as though you do struggle with it at some level. As you said on the show that no one is perfect and that this is something you need to work on. Being a gay man I have had to deal with people in school, work and family who have had similar feelings and by doing what you did and talking honestly about it has helped in resolving conflicts.

A documentary that might help with religion and gay issues you might want to check out For the Bible Tells Me So - it is an award winning film and it has helped some many people including my own mother and has helped make our relationship so much stronger.

I am a new listener to your shows and I would have to say that you do a great job and I think that any complaints on what you say or how you say it is bunch of crap!
