CORRECTION TO MY PREVIOUS POST: Someone on Twitter told me how to find the very small font download link for the "Unsupported" versions. OK, Wayne's happy now.

Wayne,

I'm not sure I understand... As far as I know, the new Revolution Themes ARE FREE! As far as I can tell, you can download any or all of the new themes for free. However, there is simply no "support" available for learning how to get the theme to do what it is supposed to do with "your" content without either 1 year or lifetime support membership. The support "<em>IS OPTIONAL</em>."

Have a look at this screen capture from the website. Look at the area I highlighted.

I think I missed something in all of the Revolution2 excitement over the themes being released early. I had read about the support subscription plans that the designers were offering, but I thought that was optional. And I thought that the new themes being "Open Source" mean that the themes themselves would be free. Yes, I know, silly me, but I thought (incorrectly) that "Open Source" = free.

Oh well, your blog entry here helped clarify it (especially after I looked all over the RevolutionTwo site for Download links. Their new themes still look cool, but it will be after Christmas before I can look to using them.

I'm glad your blog post spelled things out more clearly than what I was understanding at RevolutionTwo. I'll have you in mind Cliff, for when I am able to make the jump. Please keep us posted on the Podcast Answer Man podcast when you, or someone you know of, starts using one of these new themes.

Cliff, these new themes look Awesome. Although I purchased the previous WP Revolution theme (and hope to configure it for my main Voice-over site), I hope to use one of these new open source themes for my pain podcast site, and a different one for my wife's business website.

If I run into troubles, and my budget allows, I will definitely be contacting you to set up one-on-one consulting Cliff!
