I was shocked at how this almost came out as sort of a &#8220;rant.&#8221;  I didn&#8217;t intend for it to come out that way.  I&#8217;m wondering if this might spark an ongoing conversation on the topic.</p><p>In the episode, I shared my suggestion that using a cheap microphone and recording into <a href="http://audacity.sourceforge.net/">AUDACITY</a> would bring you a much higher quality of sound than that of recording into a phone line.  Not only that, but I prefer listening to a podcast when the host(s) are pretending that they are speaking to, or for the benefit of, ME, the downloading listener.
