Live Streaming With Meerkat
I start this week’s episode talking about the new Meerkat Live Streaming application that is available for iPhone users. The ability to stream live video from your phone is not new. In fact, it’s been possible with Ustream for many years. However, this new app does make it easier than any other service that I’ve used to get a live stream online and shared with your community.

Incomes Streams To Consider
Also in this episode, I share nine possible income streams that you can consider for your online business. I have listed them below for your reference.

1. Affiliate Income
2. Physical Products
3. Coaching / Consulting
4. Webinar / Digital Products
5. Online Courses
6. Public Speaking
7. Live Physical Events
8. Membership Sites
9. Sponsorship / Advertising

Saying Yes To New Things Often Means Saying No To Exisiting Things
I always get excited at the beginning of each new year. The weeks leading up to the first of the new year is a time where I reflect on what has been accomplished over the past year, a time to discern what it is that I want to continue to do, and to make decisions about what I wish to do differently.

Changes ahead

I’ve have several signficant goal that I hope to accomplish. In this first episode of 2015, I share the most important priorities that I have moving into this brand new year.

To make room in my life for these new goals/priorities, I’ve had to come to the decision to stop doing a few things. For this reason, I share my thought process behind making the decision to stop doing my weekly live broadcasts as well as publishing a video version of Podcast Answer Man to my YouTube Channel.

I know that the changes that I’m making will dissapoint a few hundred of my most loyal community members. However, it is my hope that when they hear the top three goals that I have for 2015, they will understand and support this decision.

I’m wishing you a very blessed and joy filled 2015!

blackmagic-intensity-extreme-2Working Out The Kinks With My Live Stream (00:04:14)
Some of you know that I have been broadcasting a live stream of the recording of my podcasts since 2006. Until recently, I never really talked about this a great deal. However, in the past few episodes, I’ve mentioned that I’ve been looking to take my YouTube video content to the next level by uploading the recordings of my live stream broadcasts to my YouTube Channel.

Prior to publishing the videos to my YouTube channel, I was fully satisfied with a lower quality video stream, as long as it gave those in the chat room a peak into what was happening in my studio with a “behind the scenes” feel. However, now that I am looking to record and upload these videos to YouTube, I’ve decided to broadcast and record in HD. This has caused quite a few technical issues that I’ve had to work through. I spent the a good deal of this episode sharing my story about what I had to go through to get things to where they are today. I still have several technical details to work out, such as audio sync issues when I upload the Ustream Recording to YouTube. More on that in next week’s episode.

My Thoughts On Live Streaming & Video In General (00:34:25)
It’s been quite some time since I’ve shared my overall thoughts on the topic of live streaming your podcast. I typically warn all new podcasters to stay away from live streaming their podcast for the first six months, at least. In this episode, I share why I hold that position.

Also, I share my thoughts on video content, in general. If I didn’t make it perfectly clear, in this episode, I want to state that I do love great video content. However, when it comes to podcasting, I really only enjoy video podcasts that contain content that is really made for video. Even then, I have a very limited amount of time that I can devote to “screen time” for such content and, therefore, I am only subscribed to two video podcasts. If I have screen time, I’d almost rather be watching a movie, a tv show, or playing a video game.
