Picking Up Where Serial Left Off
I recently subscribed to the Undisclosed-Podcast.
From their website: “The Undisclosed Podcast is a listening experience that reframes, enhances or otherwise shifts everything you've come to know about the State of Maryland's case against Adnan Syed, especially as you've come to know it through listening to Serial. In order to do that, we intend to revisit the case from the beginning, looking at all the available evidence. Not only will we look at the evidence that was presented in Serial, but we will also provide new evidence that we've uncovered in our investigation. We have combed through police and court records that the Serial team did not possess during the podcast, and done much, much more to get to the truth. Accordingly, we aspire to present the best possible version of the events as we believe those events to be. We will also present theories that we believe the evidence best construes. Perhaps most importantly, we will provide you with all of our evidence as part of that process.”

385 Don’t Fall For The Latest Format Fad

What has made Serial and Startup so popular as podcasts?
photodune-7073493-bandwagon-this-way--xsI've heard a lot of conversations surrounding the popularity of the Startup and Serial podcasts. I've heard more than one person suggest that the main reason that these two shows are so popular is due to the format in which they tell a narrative story throughout each episode.

I'm shocked by the number of people who have already tried to incorporate this style of format into their own show or are contemplating doing so in the near future.

I'll admit, I'm just as hooked to these two podcasts as the other hundreds of thousands of podcast enthusiasts out there. However, I don't think it's the format of the show that has drawn everyone's attention. Yes, I do believe it is a part of the equation. However, I do there there is more to it than that. That is the main topic that I cover in this week's episode of Podcast Answer Man.

381 The Serial Podcast – Stitcher Reviews – Disqus Comment System Plugin – And So Much More

serial-social-logoHave you heard of the podcast, SERIAL?
Serial (iTunes | Website) is a new podcast from the creators of This American Life, hosted by Sarah Koenig.

Serial unfolds one story – a true story – over the course of a whole season. The show follows the plot and characters wherever they lead, through many surprising twists and turns.

Sarah won't know what happens at the end of the story until she gets there, not long before you get there with her. Each week she'll bring you the latest chapter, so it's important to listen in, starting with Episode 1. New episodes are released on Thursday mornings. Serial, like This American Life, is a production of WBEZ Chicago.

Earlier this week, The Verge reported that Serial had broke the iTunes record for the fastest podcast to reach 5 millions downloads and streams.
