In college, I was a theatre minor. In acting classes, they teach you that regardless what is going on in your real life, you simply must put it aside when you are on the stage. You are there to perform for the audience and you are expected to “play the character” that is prescribed for the production.
Every now and then, it's easy for us, as podcasters, to feel like we need to “put on a performance” for our audience. I understand the need for someone, like myself, to build a professional reputation to represent my business well. However, I feel that it is important that we don't lose touch of the importance of authenticity.
In this week's episode, I share a few emails that reminded me just how valuable it is when I'm just being myself behind the microphone, sharing my authentic journey, week after week.
Are you ready to change the world?
In this episode, I talk about what has always been the most appealing aspect of podcasting, the ability to have a powerful, positive, impact on the lives of those who consume your content.
I truly believe that you can change the world, one person a time, with your podcast if you have a clear message that people can identify with, if you are willing to just be yourself, if you genuinely care about people and if you build environments of community for folks to connect with you and each other.
Are you ready to #TrainWithCliff?
Also in this episode, I talk about my new #TrainWithCliff campaign. I want to encourage those who spend most of their days tethered to their computers to get off the fence and take their own health and fitness journey to the next level.

In my talk, I explained that if you have a clear message that people can grasp on to, if you genuinely care about other people, if you are intentional about creating environments of community and you are willing to just be yourself, you will have a powerful and positive impact in the lives of those who listen to your show. In this episode of Podcast Answer Man, I share one of the top five most difficult decisions that I've had to make in my business. February 2014 marks the second anniversary of The Podcast Mastermind. In spite of the fact that it was responsible for generating over $57,000 in profit for my business in 2013, alone, I made the decision to completely shut it down. The difficulty of this decision has nothing to do with the loss of the $57K and has everything to do with the amazing benefits that have come as a result of being a part of seeing massive life change in the lives of the members that it served.
This is now my favorite episode of Podcast Answer Man to date. In it, you will learn why I had to shut down The Podcast Mastermind. You'll also get a valuable insight into the type of commitment that I have to my business and my desire to always under promise and over deliver on every commitment that I make to those I work with in any way.
I hope that you find this episode an entertaining source of education, encouragement and inspiration. If so, I would be honored if you would consider asking others to have a listen in your social media channels. Also, I would love to hear your feedback related to this episode in the comments below.
My BlogWorld LA 2011 Talk
I am so excited to share my BlogWorld LA 2011 talk with you here in this episode of Podcast Answer Man. The talk was titled “Forget CPM! Proven Strategies For Generating Serious Income From Your Podcasting Efforts.” The audio of this is included in the podcast feed. However, I'm also embedding the video of my talk below.
I hope that the biggest takeaway, from my talk, will be the formula for success that I focus on within the first 20 minutes of my talk. It is my belief that if you do not have the solid foundation that I share in this formula, you will not be able to duplicate the success I have found.
Furthermore, if you follow the formula of success that I provide, I believe you will find that you don't want to simply try to duplicate the streams of income that I have pursued, but you'll become very creative in coming up with your own ideas for generating income in the process.
Here's the video:
